Brownell has launched an accelerator program for advisors to help grow their businesses.
Called Brownell Catalyst, the online program sits between Brownell Mentoring, its path for new advisors, and Brownell Hosting, its host agency. It is designed for advisors who don’t need the full support of the Mentoring program but need help scaling their book of business, according to Kerry Dyer, Brownell’s chief developing officer.Â
“They’ve hung a shingle and they’ve got their brand and they know what they’re doing, but they finally hit the point of they now know what they didn’t know,” Dyer said. “So they’re just in this middle place.”
Or, put another way, “If Mentoring is your full undergrad, Catalyst is maybe that fellowship,” Dyer said.
Catalyst is a six-month program with a rolling admission, Dyer said. When possible, Brownell will pair advisors taking the program so they can support each other, but several have gone through the program on their own.
During those six months, advisors will still be working but also undergo extensive training in sales, marketing, vendor relations and product knowledge. The training is customizable to help advisors in areas most needed.
“While we definitely have a blueprint, we want to customize it to what they need,” Dyer said.
Once an advisor has completed Catalyst, they join Brownell’s hosting program.
Tuition for Catalyst is $2,500. Advisors will receive commissions for any sales they make during the program; the commission split they receive depends on their sales level.
Brownell, based in Birmingham, Ala., is No. 53 on Travel Weekly’s Power List.
