How to Make Virgin Voyages Dining Reservations

Virgin Voyages does things differently than other cruise lines and that’s why we love them! One of those things they do differently is how they handle dining.

So here is what you need to know to make dining reservations on Virgin Voyages.

How does Virgin Voyages handle dinner reservations?

With Virgin there is no main dining room or buffet, and there are no specialty restaurants that cost extra. Instead, there are multiple a la carte restaurants you can dine at in the evenings. While these are included in your fare, they do require reservations. There are also some more casual spots that do not require reservations.

If you are wondering how to make Virgin Voyages dining reservations online at their website, you actually can’t. You must download the Virgin Voyages App to make dinner reservations on Virgin cruises. You can make them up to 45 days before departure, or 60 days before if you are in a Rock Star suite.

Don’t worry if you don’t see availability at the restaurant you want to try; additional reservation times open up after boarding. FYI, you can only make reservations at each restaurant once per voyage.

While you’re on board, you can make, change, or cancel reservations through the Virgin Voyages app or directly at the restaurant.

You can also make Virgin Voyages dining reservations with Sailor Services (especially good for groups) or through your Virgin Voyages travel agent if you use one. Travel agents can be invaluable for reasons like this; they can also work with the ship to let them know of any dietary restrictions you may have. If you’re not using a travel agent, just let the restaurant know in advance of your meal.

Do you need dinner reservations on Virgin Voyages?

Yes, but also no. You do not technically need dinner reservations, but if you have them your trip will be much smoother.

Without dinner reservations, you can always dine at The Galley on Virgin Voyages, open 24 hours and offering a ton of more casual choices in a food court-style set-up. There are also some other options that don’t require reservations, like a 24-hour diner, a pizza place, the Sun Club Cafe and the Dockhouse. Virgin ships also offer the ShipEats delivery service, which will deliver food to your cabin or elsewhere on board (for a small surcharge).

You can also show up to a restaurant to try to get a table without a reservation, or check the app the day you are looking for reservations to see if there are openings.

Keep in mind that people are always changing their plans and last-minute availability is normal. However, if you have particular restaurants you want to dine at, you should make reservations in advance to be sure you can get in.

Extra Virgin

Razzle Dazzle

Pink Agave

Gunbae

These are the best restaurants on Virgin Voyages ships, as they offer more of a dining experience plus unique and delicious offerings that have been created by Michelin-starred chefs. While the food at The Galley and the casual options is great, it’s not as special of an experience. If you are celebrating an event like a honeymoon, anniversary, birthday, or other occasion, you will definitely want to make reservations at some of these Virgin Voyages restaurants.
