News and notes from around the interweb:
- We learned about a planned Chase Sapphire lounge at DFW airport by gate D35 in January 2023. Things have been pretty quiet with it since then, but there is a permit, work did start, and it appears to be extensive (new elevators being added!). The space appears to be 18,105 square feet.
- We already know that the American Airlines Flagship Lounge is close to opening, coming this summer, and that it’ll be a nicer space than the other Flagship lounges (because it’s in the new lounge design, not 2018-era modern hospital).
American has announced its chef partner for the lounge. It’ll have a tended bar rather than self serve like the other Flagship lounge locations. “La Colombe has been ditched at both the Flagship Lounge and the Admirals Club” and American tells me they’ll be serving Don Francisco instead.

- Air Canada to be the launch customer for Airbus A220 Airspace Cabin
The A220 cabin provides a leading Airspace experience, combining new elements with the widest seats, aisle, and largest cabin and windows in its class. Onboard, new bins offer 20% increase in volume, are 10% lighter and will enable a faster turnaround for crew as they are easier to handle. The cabin also offers new Airspace lighting features, including an optional third LED lightstrip under the new bins, contributing to the great cabin ambience.
