Our Travel Academy includes both audio and video formats to appeal to different learning styles. It is online and self-paced and includes 19 sections and more than 100 lessons. It covers a wide range of topics, such as geography; types of leisure travel and suppliers; and sales.

The course also includes a Travel Agent Education Certification exam. Advisors who pass receive a certification.

Our Travel Academy was inspired by Avoya’s proprietary Avoya Travel
Academy. According to the host agency, which is based in Fort
Lauderdale, graduates of its academy have a 50% higher closing rate and
50% greater earnings in commission than their peers who haven’t taken a
foundational course.

“With no current industrywide education standard available to help new agents gain the necessary knowledge and expertise to be successful in selling travel, Avoya is uniquely positioned to power this new solution for the industry given its significant experience in helping travel agencies and their agents sell and be successful for the long term,” Avoya said in a statement.

The setup fee for Our Travel Academy is $5,000. The per-user fee depends on the number of users but starts at $299 per person for one to 50 users and drops to $199 per person for more than 1,000 users.
