Contiki said it will add four tours to Asia in 2025, including a nine-day tour to the Malaysian section of Borneo, which it has never before offered.
Starting at $2,714 per person, the Borneo expedition will give guests a chance to see orangutans and sun bears in their natural habitat at the Semenggoh Orangutan Wildlife Center. Other highlights include a day on Selingan Turtle Island, where travelers can watch turtles laying eggs on the beach. The trip also includes a cruise over the Kinabatangan River for more wildlife watching.
“Borneo is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered,” said Taryn Welsh, director of operations for Contiki – Asia and Australia. “It’s home to 6% of the world’s biodiversity, and on our new trip travelers will get to see a lot of it.” Welsh added that Contiki had “really made sure that we’re exploring the island’s tropical forests in a sustainable manner.”
Contiki, which specializes in trips for 18- to 35-year-old travelers, will augment its Philippines Island Hopping tour by crafting another trip that visits four additional islands in the eastern part of the Philippines. Travelers who want to cover both the eastern and western parts of the Philippines can book the 22-day Ultimate Philippines Island Hopping trip for the full experience.
Contiki also said it reintroduced a previously popular trip, China Adventure. The 12-day tour is suited to travelers who find it difficult to navigate the country due to language barriers and its size and therefore prefer a planned group tour, Contiki said.
In India, the eight-day Eternal India Express tour visits Delhi, Agra, Udaipur, Jaipur and Ranthambore and includes tickets for the Taj Mahal, a tiger safari in Ranthambore and a tour of Old Delhi’s streets on a tuk tuk.
