News and notes from around the interweb:
While the new Delta One lounge may be a good reason to fly out of New York JFK’s terminal 4, this may be a pretty good reason not to fly Delta into New York JFK:
Starting tomorrow 6/26, for-hire vehicle pickups (e.g. Uber/Lyft) for arriving passengers at @JFKAirport Terminal 4 will be relocated to a remote pick-up lot during peak hours of noon to 2 a.m.
Free shuttle buses will run every 1-2 minutes from the terminal frontage. Taxis will… pic.twitter.com/0wIScKLyF2

Did not know this:
Today I learned that part of the reason why @JFKairport AirTrain isn’t fare-free is because it would directly cost airlines $33 million a year.
Somehow airlines are on the hook to pay about half the AirTrain’s operating costs. JetBlue apparently paid ~$16 million in 2023.

On that rawdogging flights thing I don’t believe ‘men doing absolutely nothing on flights’ is an actual new trend but I believe there are people who do this because I used to ride the D.C. metro.
These people are sad. On my daily commute I’d see people just facing forward. Nobody was working. Many people weren’t listening to headphones, reading books, or even the free giveaway newspaper. They were just going through life as though they were on heroin, but without the drug’s effects. So my takeaway from the piece is that there are people who are just letting their limited time on earth (and above the earth) just slip away.
